Aggregation of binary evaluations: a Borda-like approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
We characterize a rule for aggregating binary evaluations – equivalently, dichotomous weak orders – similar in spirit to the Borda rule from the preference aggregation literature. The binary evaluation framework was introduced as a general approach to aggregation by Wilson (J. Econ. Theory 10 (1975) 63-77). In this setting we characterize the “mean rule,” which we derive from properties similar to those Young (J. Econ. Theory 9 (1974) 43-52) used in his characterization of the Borda rule. Complementing our axiomatic approach is a ∗Financial support from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through MICINN/FEDER grant ECO2010-21624, the NUI Galway Millennium Fund and the Irish Research Council co-funding from the European Commission is gratefully acknowledged. Supervised Kemeny Rank Aggregation for Influence Prediction in Networks
Identifying influential individuals in a network is commonly addressed through various socio-metrics like PageRank, Hub and Authority scores [1], etc. These metrics are primarily based on the actor's location in the network [2] and often captures only a subset of the critical factors that are usually at play while predicting influence in networks like, relationship of the network (type of edge)...
متن کاملImpossibility Theorems and the Universal Algebraic Toolkit
We elucidate a close connection between the Theory of Judgment Aggregation (more generally, Evaluation Aggregation), and a relatively young but rapidly growing field of universal algebra, that was primarily developed to investigate constraint satisfaction problems. Our connection yields a full classification of non-binary evaluations into possibility and impossibility domains both under the ide...
متن کاملProperties of fuzzy relations and aggregation process in decision making
In this contribution connections between input fuzzy relations R1, . . . ,Rn on a set X and the output fuzzy relationRF = F(R1, . . . ,Rn) are studied. F is a function of the form F : [0, 1]n → [0, 1] and RF is called an aggregated fuzzyrelation. In the literature the problem of preservation, by a function F, diverse types of properties of fuzzy relationsR1, . . . ,Rn is examined. Here, it is c...

Borda count is a well-known social choice method, and is frequently used for group decision making problems. However it does not consider the optimism/pessimism view of the director, which has a great effect on the group decisions. Therefore in the present study, we extend the Borda method by using the Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) operator to consider the risk attitudinal characteristics....
متن کاملA new last aggregation compromise solution approach based on TOPSIS method with hesitant fuzzy setting to energy policy evaluation
Utilizing renewable energies is identified as one of significant issues for economical and social significance in future human life. Thus, choosing the best renewable energy among renewable energy candidates is more important. To address the issue, multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM) methods with imprecise information could be employed to solve these problems. The aim of this paper is ...
